Even though The West Course is Norwood's Championship Course, don't think of the 800 yard shorter East Course as a push over. East vs. West Interesting Fact: In 1996 the Missouri Senior's played a two day event at Norwood, and the outcome surprised more than a few of those who competed. Day one was played from the Blue tees on the West, playing approximately 6,300 yards with a slope of 128, while the second day had the competitors play from the Gold tees on the East, playing at 6,006, also with a slope of 128. The outcome: the average score on the East was 4 strokes higher than the West.
The East Course _______________
The East Course at Norwood Hills has remained relatively unchanged since it's inception in 1922, giving it a very classic feel that is unrivaled in the Midwest. The Greens are artfully sculpted making them some of the most interesting in St. Louis. Although shorter than the West Course, the yardage is deceiving. The Course plays to Par 69 over varied terrain coupled with undulating greens, making this a true shot-maker's course and a challenge for golfers of all abilities. #10 is the Signature hole on the East course, the lake is to the front and left of the green. Bunkers in front and to the right catch errant shots. This Redan-type green slopes away from you front-right to back left, with the surface sloping back left to front right.
Blue tees: par-69, 6,006 yards, 69.0 / 129

This one was complicated to make come together, but definitely worth it. Graduation and work schedules seemed like they were obstacles but eventually, we made it work and I am glad we did. The history at Norwood Hills is as impressive as the course.
After another rainy night, I was lucky enough to play 18 with my brother in law, Joe Grunz. It’s been a while since we have spent time together and I can’t think of a better place to do it then a great historic golf course.
My day was filled with bogies and I shot an 88 without losing a ball. Not a bad outing.
